Elements of the Plot:
EXPOSITION: The first part of the story where characters, setting, and basic situations are revealed. INCITING INCIDENT: The event that sets the story in motion and makes the rest of the story possible RISING ACTION: The main part of the story that moves the plot along with complications, turns, and twists. CLIMAX: The most exciting or intense part for the protagonist, usually the turning point. FALLING ACTION: Events that follow the climax and move the conflicts toward resolution. RESOLUTION: The loose parts of the plot are tied up, questions answered, and conflicts are resolved. |
